Some considerations about the experience of self in Masud Khan’s thinking
Abstract
Although the concept of the self and the experience of the self are very important to psychoanalysis, they often escape conceptual definition and exact perception. Discussed by several authors, these themes were debated in many of Winnicott’s writings and, later, taken up and developed by Masud Khan especially when we think about a clinic in which regression appears. This paper seeks to present some of Khan’s contributions to understanding the experience of the self, using clinical cases presented by the author himself as a basis for discussion. Furthermore, to provide a compelling illustration, we propose a reflective analysis of the film The Woman Who Ran in relation to this subject matter.
