psychoanalysis, politics and the construction of kinship

Abstract

From Fanon's provocation, which leads us to question considering sociogenesis, we have chosen as companions on the journey of this work Donna Haraway, an American philosopher and zoologist, and Silvia Federici, an Italian feminist thinker. Both bring perspectives beyond the usual kinships of Psychoanalysis. It is under this lens that we will seek to bring excerpts from the relationship between Psychoanalysis and the extreme social and political events that we have recently experienced in Brazil. The authors emphasize the strength of the collective, reminding us that at every moment we are in relationships of strange and diverse kinships, being constituted and constituting beyond our small family circle. Psychoanalysis is not, nor could it be, an island, without commitments to the world and the current time. From our point of view, as we understand psychoanalysis, certain positions are very important in clarifying that democracy is a condition of possibility for free thinking, and it is on its side that, as psychoanalysts, searching for possible connections, we choose to walk.
